Hi ,

As I was driving along in my car earlier this week, and I did a quick calculation in my head.

I have a 25-minute commute to work, and of course a 25-minute drive home. That makes for 50 minutes a day of drive time, times 20 workdays each month, which works out to about 1000 minutes of driving back-and-forth to work each month; a whopping 17 hours!

I figured that I spend the equivalent of about two workdays each month behind the wheel driving back and forth to work. So I asked myself, "What can I do with an extra two workdays each week? And what can I do to recapture this time?"

Rather than mindlessly listening to the radio for 17 hours each month, I decided to start listening to podcasts on various topics ranging from interviews with successful people to how to save the American timber wolf (that was an interesting one!)

I essentially re-captured this otherwise wasted time and turned it into something productive – a classroom on wheels.

So where am I going with this? Simply, that we constantly engage in patterns of activity that just become habit over time. And that we would do well to take a step back from time-to-time to look at the various patterns that we follow during our day, to see if they are truly necessary; or if we can substitute for them something that is more productive, and will lead to a better quality of life for us.

If you take an inventory of your patterns throughout the day, I think you’ll be amused. I know that I was. You’ll find time that you never thought you had before.

I would like to encourage you to take some time this week to observe yourself and see if you can find patterns in your life that you would like to change also.

LEAN BODY TRANSFORMATION OF THE WEEK MOTIVATION
Scott Even Lost 36.8 Pounds and Dropped 5.1% Body Fat.

"My main focus was to gain strength, endurance, and to lose weight. I wanted to gain definition as well as to change my lifestyle. Between working 12 hour days and going to Florida to help my mom it was a little bit difficult to always get in the work I needed and eat properly. I stayed on track with motivational videos, the people around me, and discipline. Even as slow as results were, I could see the changes and took some of the negatives and turned them into fuel to not only complete this but to keep going."
