Hi ,
When I was a young boy, every summer day, I would ask my
Mom for a quarter so I could ride my bike up to the corner convenience store, where I would buy myself a soft drink, which back in those days, came in a bottle. I didn’t think anything about knocking that thing back, it was so cold and sweet!
Fast forward a "few" years. Just this week I ran across an article in the Journal of the American Medical Association, where they were comparing 100% fruit juice with sugary soft drinks. The main thrust is that it’s not much better. A 12 ounce serving of either one can contain more than 35 g of sugar, which is the equivalent of 9 teaspoons of sugar.
Next time you’re in front of a bowl of sugar, take a teaspoon out and measure out 9 teaspoons so you can get a clear idea of how much sugar that is! No wonder that we have so many Americans suffering from diabetes and pre-diabetes. I was so energized by this article that I took it upon myself to create a short video about the
matter, which you will find in this newsletter.
I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it for you.
