Last week my jaw dropped when I came across a study showing that American adults over 50 years of age are incredibly deficient in protein. Really? So much for the idea that there is a protein craze going on in this country. HOW can so many adults NOT get enough protein in their daily diet?
Because of my lifelong love of bodybuilding, protein has always been a macronutrient that’s been top of mind when I sit down to eat. I
include a lean source of protein such as fish, chicken breast, or protein shakes at every meal. I always thought that people got enough protein to get by, even if they didn’t get as much as I did.
